Meet the Board: Eric Gorewitz
Q: How long have known Jonas and Chris?
A: I had the opportunity to meet Chris and Jonas a few months after they started Roessel Joy.
Q: What drew you to RJ, and how long have you been on the Advisory Board? How did you become an advisor?
A: I have been on the Advisory Board since its inception. When they asked me, I was so impressed with their professionalism, so of course, I said yes. Even though they were a new company, they both brought so much prior experience. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable about the Finance and Accounting field, but they were very familiar with the Boston market. Companies that utilize staffing services are very open to speaking with new firms, so their experience also allowed them to bring fresh ideas to the table. Jonas and Chris are both such great people, which is important in such a person-focused industry.
Q: What space do you work in?
A: I also work in the staffing and recruiting industry. Instead of Finance and Accounting, we place administrative roles at all levels. This includes recent grads through senior executive assistants and everything in between.
Q: What is your role at your current company?
A: I am the owner of Monument Staffing Incorporated.
Q: What previous experience do you bring to Roessel Joy?
A: As of now, I am the only board member that is also in the staffing space. I started my company in 2002 but have been in this industry since 1996. I think that I am able to relay my experiences and lessons learned over the years to them. Whether that be tips, things to look out for, or genuine advice on how to navigate the industry.
Q: Where do you see the future of Roessel Joy going in the next few years?
A: I think they are going to gain momentum and market share as they continue to grow the team. As long as they continue to make great hires who can continue to develop relationships with companies in Boston, they will quickly become a dominant player in the market.
Q: What is your favorite piece of career advice?
A: Be the first one in the office every morning, and the last one to leave in the afternoon. Putting in those extra hours makes a difference.
Q: What is one thing we should know about you that we can’t find on LinkedIn?
A: I often record myself in the car singing country songs. I would say Russel Dickerson is one of my favorite artists.
