Roessel Joy’s Advisory Board is made up of diverse and talented members, with success and experience in many different industries. We are proud to formally introduce our members in our new “Meet the Board” series! First, we sat down with Talla’s CFO, Gunnar Link, to learn more about his experience and his role on our board.

Q: How long have known our Managing Partners, Jonas and Chris?

A:  I met them at a networking event when they were 1-2 months into starting Roessel Joy. I helped them on the finance side of things while they were getting off the ground and established, and then actually suggested that they start a board for advice as they navigate running a business.

Q: How long have you been on the Advisory Board?

A: I have been on the board since the beginning, which started about a year after I first met Chris and Jonas. I like lending advice to people in the process of building companies - people who are passionate about what they’re doing. They [Chris and Jonas] had a pretty good idea of what they wanted to do, so I knew I wanted to help.

Q: What space do you work in?

A: I work in software services, a little bit of biotech, but I would say 70% Software.

Q: What is your role at your current company?

A.     I am CFO of a software company, Talla, where we sell AI systems to enhance the overall customer experience.

Q: What previous experience do you bring to Roessel Joy?

A: I really focus on the finance side of the house. Peter Brau (another Advisory Board member) also brings that sort of experience. I also focus on strategy consulting, helping map out what the company wants to do over the next several years.

Q: Are you involved in any other organizations outside of work?

A:  I do the same thing for a few other companies- I am a strategic advisor and board member.

Q: Where do you see the future of Roessel Joy going in the next few years?

A: Definitely getting bigger and bigger, successfully expanding to different locations and different industries.

Q: What is your favorite piece of career advice?

A:   A mentor once told me, “Spend 20s focused on becoming an interesting person, your 30s focused on your career, your 40s on building wealth, and by the time you’re 50 you can do whatever you want to do.”

Q:     What is one thing we should know about you that we can’t find on LinkedIn?

A:      I was born in Sweden!
