Meet the Team: Patrick Kelly
What is your role here at Roessel Joy?
I work as a Business Development Intern. My focus is prospecting and lead generation. I reach out to prospective clients to learn more about their staffing needs. From this point, I assess whether the need would be best serviced through our temp-hire team or our permanent placement team. I work closely with the Account Managers to generate new business and learn more about the sales side of recruiting. I also work on prospecting for our new accountancy consulting practice, Solaris.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a role filled at a company that I initiated contact with. I know I made a real difference in someone’s life by helping them find one of the most important pillars of life, a job that they enjoy. I love seeing the tireless work from the RJ team to ensure that a candidate finds the right fit for both them and the client.
Why do you like working at Roessel Joy?
I like being a part of such a dynamic, cooperative, and hardworking team. We love to laugh and have fun, but everyone has a good work ethic to make sure we are performing at a level above our competition. I especially like it when we do Blitz weeks which creates some healthy internal competition to push our teams to the next level.
What values drive and motivate you?
Family is what I value most. A large portion of my drive is derived from the goal to do right by my family. My parents worked so hard to raise me and my siblings, and I want to make them proud with the work that I do. This is paired with the fact that I have two amazing older sisters who provided some pretty big shoes to fill.
What is your favorite piece of career advice?
The cliché “your network is your net worth”. I love this because it is true, so long as you focus on expanding your network in an authentic way and ensuring that every connection adds value to it, including yourself. Knowing the right people could set you on a completely different career path that could make you exponentially happier.
What is one thing we should know about you that we can’t find on LinkedIn?
I love music. Whether it is playing it or listening to it. There is a song or artist to match the energy of any moment. I am a fan of most types of music, but I love classic rock the most.
