Meet the Team: Kalle Sundell

For our Spotlight this week, we spoke with Kalle Sundell to learn more about his role at Roessel Joy and why he loves it.

What is your role? I work as a recruiting intern here at Roessel Joy. My job is to find the best talent in the market by contacting candidates who have been applying to our jobs in LinkedIn and Indeed. My responsibilities also include job posting and reference checks.

 What is the most rewarding part of your job?

When we find a job for one of our candidates. Getting a new role can be a life changing experience and working in a job where we can make dreams come true is incredibly rewarding.

Why do you like working at Roessel Joy?

The most rewarding part of my job is spending time in the office with our incredible team. We have a great group of people working here and we are all aspiring to reach the same goals together. From day one, I have felt welcomed and part of the team. It is easy to come into the office each day with a big smile on my face because I am surrounded by fantastic people.

What values drive and motivate you?

Honesty, passion, and humor.

To me, honestly is being yourself in any situation and with any person. I believe that being passionate about something is how you can maximize your own potential. And always, humor. I love to laugh and make people laugh. I once said my greatest accomplishment is being funny in two languages…sometimes making people laugh with me, but also at me. 

What is your favorite piece of career advice?

Have the courage to try something new. For example, I moved to the U.S from Finland five years ago for school. It may have been scary at the time, but it has been an amazing experience while also opening so many doors for my career. The uncertainty when making big life changes can be terrifying, but my advice is to take the leap and try something new. Pursuing an opportunity feels so much better than regretting that you didn’t try.

What is one thing we should know about you that we can’t find on LinkedIn?

I pride myself on being a great team player. I moved to Boston from Helsinki, Finland to play collegiate hockey. I make a conscious effort to bring great positive energy, whether it’s on the ice or in the office.
